Asthma is a widespread condition that affects over five million people in the UK and is more serious than many people think. In fact, more people die each year of asthma than cervical cancer and testicular cancer combined and sadly many adults and children with severe asthma face frequent hospital visits or can be stuck in their own homes, trapped due to their breathlessness.
Asthma UK provides support and advice to all people affected by asthma, through a range of projects, dedicated research and services. These include funding for asthma nurses and a popular Advice line staffed by asthma nurse specialists. EnviroVent is proud to announce that Asthma UK is the domestic division’s chosen Charity of the Year for 2011/2012.
EnviroVent franchise owners and staff around the country will be helping to raise significant funds through a range of activities throughout the year.
Neil Churchill, Chief Executive of Asthma UK says: “We would like to extend a huge thank you to EnviroVent for choosing us as their first ever Charity of the Year. One in five households is affected by asthma, including over a million children, so it’s very likely that many customers and staff will know someone affected and we have a fantastic opportunity to help transform their lives. We look forward to working closely together to maximise any money raised for the biggest impact on those in need”.
Marketing Director, Rebecca McLean commented: “We believe this is a fantastic opportunity for EnviroVent to raise funds in support for such a vital charity. It is a perfect fit for our company, which is so passionate about the importance of good indoor air quality and the benefits it can bring.
