Harrogate-based ventilation manufacturer, EnviroVent, is celebrating being highly commended at this year’s National Business Awards in the category Best Small to Medium-Sized Business of the Year.

Now in its 14th year, the prestigious award ceremony took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London where 1200 guests gathered in anticipation for this year’s winners to be announced. Prime Minister David Cameron introduced the ceremony saying “The National Business Awards are really important. Britain is in a global race to succeed right now and it is people like you who help make sure that Britain doesn’t just compete in this global race, but really thrives in it.”

He then went onto say: “From your leadership in digital and innovation, to the Duke of York’s new award for University Entrepreneurship, these awards are rightly the Oscars of great British business.”

Presented by Sky News’ Ian King and Poppy Trowbridge, the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards welcomed former Astronaut and second man on the moon, Buzz Aldrin as headline speaker. He remarked that meeting the leading innovators and future disrupters of the future will change the face of industry in years to come. It is today’s young people who will have the dreams and ambitions to conquer mars and beyond.

UK manufacturer joined nine other finalists in the shortlist for the Best SME. Recognised as highly commended, the judges said: “Envirovent have come a long way in the last year and have set themselves up well for a strong future. They have put together a compelling brand and will no doubt be champions of the future.”

The business has gone from strength to strength, consistently achieving significant growth year on year, increasing its workforce and expanding into new markets. This year a new employee engagement programme was rolled out called the EnviroVent Way, relaunching the company’s values which underpin the attributes that make the company so unique. Research & Development plays a key role within the company as it strives to design and manufacture products that are future-proofed for tomorrow’s ventilation requirements.

Managing Director, Andy Makin, said: “We are thrilled to have been recognised at these prestigious awards, which demonstrate how far the business has come over the past few years. This is testament to our consistent drive for innovation and technological advancement in improving the air in people’s homes.”

EnviroVent is one of the pioneers of Positive Input Ventilation (PIV).  The company also manufactures a range of other alternative whole house ventilation systems, such as MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) as well as producing a wide choice of single/multiple room mechanical extract ventilation solutions and a full selection of extractor fans.
