Leading UK ventilation manufacturer EnviroVent has announced that the company’s training centre in Harrogate has now become a fully accredited NICEIC Approved Assessment Training Centre.
NICEIC is the UK’s leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry. For almost 60 years, it has been assessing the competence of electricians, and its courses are recognised as amongst the best in the ventilation industry.
EnviroVent has invested significantly in its training centre to ensure it can provide the best possible NICEIC training courses for ventilation installers. The centre now boasts fully operational ventilation units that allow contractors and installers to work in real life ventilation scenarios, as well as being able to commission and set up ventilation systems. EnviroVent’s training centre will regularly be audited both internally and externally by NICEIC.
Larry Soper, Technical Training Manager at EnviroVent, said: “We are excited to become one of the NICEIC certified centres. We have invested heavily in our centre over the past 12 months and have a facility that is ideally suited to meet the needs of ventilation installers. NICEIC has become the standard training course for installers of ventilation equipment and, with our technical expertise, we can offer some of the best ventilation installation training currently available.”
EnviroVent will be running an NICEIC course every month, with additional domestic ventilation training courses arranged at times when demand is high. The company expects to train around 200 installers over the next 12 months - the courses allow attendees to understand the need for proper ventilation, regulations and the importance of accurate installation.
Larry Soper continues: “By becoming an NICEIC certified centre, we are helping the industry to drive up standards, so installers can gain both practical and theoretical experience in an accredited training centre on the installation and specifying the correct ventilation system. Candidates also get the experience to correctly commission and balance a ventilation system at a time when many specifiers and building control officers now demand this process is carried out by qualified and competent installers. This will become increasingly important as the industry changes and regulation becomes more stringent.”
EnviroVent’s two-day NICEIC Domestic Ventilation training course has been designed for experienced electricians, plumbers, ventilation installers and heating engineers that are looking to improve their knowledge and understanding of Domestic Ventilation Systems. This NICEIC certified course has been designed to provide the skills in design, installation, testing, commissioning, handover, servicing and fault finding of ventilation systems in accordance with the latest National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Minimum Technical Competency documents (MTC).
