The UK's leading manufacturer of ventilation systems, EnviroVent, scooped the Heating & Ventilation Industry Award for their innovative domestic heat recovery system, energiVent® FLOW, at a glittering ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane last month.

EnviroVent successfully fought off fierce competition to win the coveted award, were acknowledged for their product innovation in 2009 when they won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for the design and development of the EnviroVent Filterless Exact Fan.

Marketing Director, Rebecca Marczak, said “As a British manufacturer we are thrilled to win this prestigious award. It is a tremendous achievement to be recognised by the Heating & Ventilation industry especially for the design and development of a product.”

Heat Recovery Ventilation is a very effective and energy efficient way to ventilate a home. It works by extracting stale, moist air from rooms such as the kitchen and bathroom. Before the air is extracted outside it passes over a heat exchanger cell to retain some of the heat that would otherwise be lost at extraction. At the same time, fresh air is drawn into the unit from outside and is warmed by the heat exchanger cell before being delivered, via supply vents, into the living, dining and bedroom areas of the home.

This constant supply of clean, tempered air creates a healthy and ideal living environment, maintaining stable humidity levels, free from condensation and mould. What’s more, suffers from asthma and other respiratory problems should find this method of ventilation beneficial as controlled humidity levels can result in a decreased dust mite population - a known trigger for asthma and allergies. This is another positive step for EnviroVent who have seen an increase in sales in the first quarter of 2011, despite an unstable economic climate.
