Our Incredible People

We are committed to developing an engaged and inclusive workforce where employees feel valued and supported to fulfil their potential.

Alongside this, we aim to make a positive contribution beyond our organisation by building relationships with local charities and supporting our local community where possible.

Rachel Tranter Head of People and Safety

Health, Safety and Wellbeing

The health, safety, and well-being of our people remain at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive working environment across all our sites, with a strong focus on proactive risk management, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.

During the year, we continued to strengthen our health and safety culture through a combination of training, leadership involvement, and investment in safer processes and technologies. Regular audits and reporting ensure that safety remains a shared responsibility across all levels of the organisation.

We are pleased that our reported accident frequency rate is down year on year, and our ambition, however, remains zero-harm, and we continue to work at a local level to reduce the risk of accidents.

Strengthen engagement to support long – term growth

We’re building a culture where people feel heard, valued and supported - because when our people thrive our business grows with them.

2026 our people completed The Times Best Places to Work engagement survey. To qualify, we had to achieve a have an average engagement score of 70% or above and meet minimum response rates for a Big Organisation 50%.

While the overall engagement score saw a modest 3.9 out of 5.0, we experienced notable improvements in the specific areas targeted following the previous survey.

Our Workplace Engagement Results

The scores reaffirmed the strength of our core business fundamentals.

Our colleagues expressed a strong sense of confidence in all areas; our colleagues appreciate the company’s dedication to growth and culture, and the quality of both and our operational processes. As a result, there is a strong sense of purpose and pride in being part of our organisation.

While we have made progress in the areas of growth and recognition, we acknowledge that there is still more work to be done to strengthen these further.

Strengthening our culture means ensuring equal opportunity for all.
