EnviroVent Secures Major Contract With Redrow

National housebuilder Redrow has awarded ventilation manufacturer EnviroVent a major new contract for a further three years to supply its energy-efficient, high-performance ventilation systems for all its new homes and apartments.

EnviroVent will supply its SILENT (System 1) extract fans to over 4000 homes per year and its OZEO Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) (System 3) to around 600 apartments, as part of the contract.

The SILENT fans are suitable for wall or ceiling installations and are highly effective at solving ventilation problems in areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms.  These extract fans have the ability to extract maximum airflow, reducing the detrimental effects of high humidity in homes, while minimising noise levels.  This enabled Redrow to standardise its specification in their different plot types, avoiding the need for centrifugal fans, which will not only reduce cost but also minimises the complexity of installation.

The OZEO MEV System being fitted into the apartments offers an energy efficient and cost effective alternative to installing multiple extract fans. Developed to meet the requirements of system 3 to meet Part F Building Regulations, the system provides all-year-round, good indoor air quality, with very low energy consumption.

“We chose EnviroVent as our ventilation partner as the company offers a progressive ventilation solution for the ever more stringent building regulation requirements,” said Jon Moss, Group Technical Manager at Redrow. “After extensive trials in actual homes, the company proved it has the ability to supply us with a wide range of ventilation solutions to meet all Part F requirements.”

Paul Croughan, National Key Account Manager at EnviroVent, says: “We are delighted to have secured the three-year contract with Redrow and are looking forward to working with them to meet the constantly evolving requirements of UK Building Regulations. We were able to demonstrate that our SILENT and OZEO ranges could provide much improved indoor air quality and also meet the flow results required for all installed ventilation in new build.  This gave Redrow an advantage in achieving greater build efficiencies compared to their previous ventilation method, while also offering them the opportunity of standardising their ventilation specification.”

EnviroVent’s SILENT range of fans are fitted with motors mounted on elastic blocks to absorb vibration; the whisper-quiet technology delivers silent running and exceptional performance.  Available in silver or white to complement all decor styles, the range is IP44 rated and has an ultra-low energy requirement.

The OZEO MEV system is SAP Appendix Q eligible and Energy Saving Trust Best Practice Performance Compliant. It offers the flexibility of installation, either horizontal, vertically, on floors, ceiling or walls and has an aesthetically pleasing compact design.

EnviroVent has recently supplied many properties built by Redrow on behalf of a housing association, which were fitted with EnviroVent’s Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery system, to meet strict acoustic requirements. As a whole house ventilation system, EnviroVent’s MVHR (System 4) both supplies and extracts air throughout a property recovering up to 95% of the heat from the outgoing, stale air.

EnviroVent offers a wide range of ventilation solutions that are designed to help house builders meet current and future air tightness and energy efficiency requirements, through to the zero-carbon deadline.

The company’s system design and technical team can offer guidance on the merits of each solution, helping house builders meet regulatory and budgetary requirements, while creating healthier homes.
